Crowded 
These photographs document and manipulate the energy of crowds. I took the photos
during a one-week workshop entitled "The Dialogic Image" with Jan van Toorn during
RISD's Wintersession 2008.

Crowded 
On the first day of the workshop, I attended a Barack Obama rally in Hartford and
I was struck by the energy of the crowd. People were excited by the speaker but they
seemed more excited by the crowd itself.

In some images I manipulated the crowd, while others are documentary only.

These handmade signs were actually distributed out right before the speeches.
People weren't allowed to bring their own.
