Association
Association is a four-player card game I developed to explore how we perceive
the simplest connections between words and images, and to test whether anyone
can agree on these associations.

Association
I designed, printed and crafted all components of the game. It uses the color wheel
and the language of overlaps or union as a visual metaphor for the connections made
between players and the merging of image and word.

Association
The game consists of two decks of cards in a hinged box that slips into a case.

Association
So each time you put the cards away you get a different combination of word and image.

Association
The game consists of 64 word cards, 16 sets of images, directions and a case.

Association
Step 1: You must match these four images with the four cards below. All players have the
same four images to choose from.

Association
Step 2: Place your cards (in this case, green) face down on the table adjacent to the words
they match best. Your partner does the same opposite you..

Association
Step 3: Turn over the cards to reveal what matches and what you disagree on.

Association
Step 4: In this case, there are two matches and two misses. Compare your matches as a
two player team, or play against a second team for twice the fun!
